Its pulp is often employed as a hardening ingredient in confectioneries. It's used in sweets, as a jam, in juices or sweetened drinks, sorbets, ice creams, and other snacks. It can be found in Worcestershire sauce in Western cuisine. Traditional medicine and metal polishing are two further use.
