Sri Lankan TJC Mango fruit

- The TJC Mango is most likely the world's largest and juiciest mango! A fruit's average weight is 600g, but fruits weighing more than one kilogram are not uncommon.

TJC Mango is a beautiful golden fruit with a lovely skin. It has a delicious flavor, a low fiber content, and a smooth, fleshy pulp. Because the seed is small, there is more flesh to eat. The fruit ripens slowly, giving the produce enough time to reach the market.

Origin

- This mango was discovered in Sri Lanka in the early 1990s by Tom Ellawala in his mango orchard among a collection of many local and introduced varieties planted by him. Tom propagated many mango plants in his plant nursery over the next ten years, selecting the one he knew would be a winner and naming it TomEJC. He then approached the Department of Agriculture in Sri Lanka for classification. The Tom EJC cultivar was officially recognized by the Department of Agriculture in 2003 and is now the variety of choice for cultivation in Sri Lanka's Dry and Intermediate Zones.

TJC Mango Jam

- It is the most distinctive jam in Sri Lanka. It is distinctive in that it is the only jam made from a single variety of mango. It's also unique in that it's made with fresh mangoes grown and cooked on the same property. TJC Mango Jam is as close to homemade as it gets!
