What do you know about Ceylon tea types?

Ceylon tea is one of the cleanest tea in the world in terms of pesticide residues, which adds to its popularity. This has been validated by the ISO Technical Committee. Ceylon Tea Types 

Ceylon tea comes in several varieties, the most well-known of which are black, white, green, and oolong. All of them, unexpectedly, come from the same plant but differ because of how they are processed. 

1 Black Tea 

Ceylon tea is most commonly consumed in the form of black tea. The leaves of Sri Lankan tea are hand-plucked by skillful female tea pluckers to manufacture black tea. Handpicking ensures that just two leaves and a bud are picked in huge amounts. After that, the leaves are wilted, rolled, fermented, dried, and sifted. 

After filtering, the leaves are classified into different classes. Orange Pekoe is the name given to the biggest wiry leaves, followed by a variety of grades till dust grade. Each grade of black tea has a unique color and strength.

2 White Tea 

White tea is a distinct kind of Ceylon tea. As a result, it is also the most costly. The harvesting technique is what distinguishes it. Only the buds are harvested for White tea, and they are done so very carefully at morning. These buds are not fermented in any way and are hand-rolled one at a time. White tea is the only tea that is brewed by hand.

3 Green Tea 

Another famous type of Ceylon tea is green tea. It's becoming increasingly popular. Even though they stem from the same plant, the entire method of creating Green tea differs from that of Black tea. To preserve the antioxidant properties of Green tea, the leaves are unfermented throughout processing. The leaves are then selected, wilted, and roasted before being rolled, dried, and sifted.  

Ceylon Green tea, like black tea, has the advantage of being pure and clean.

4 Oolong Tea 

Oolong tea is neither a black tea nor a green tea; it is classified as a distinct type of tea. However, depending on the path the tea master chooses in the processing of the tea, an oolong may end up with more black tea qualities or more green tea characteristics. 

To eliminate moisture, freshly harvested leaves are dried in the sun. Next bruising; is a continuation of the withering process . This procedure eliminates even more moisture and grassiness. Tea producers shook the tea leaves in a basket and applied pressure with their hands. After that, the tea leaves are heated to stop the oxidation process and destroy the enzymes. The tea leaves are then handpressed into the required form. The oolong tea is then slowly cooked at a low temperature for a prolonged length of time. When compared to green tea, this prolonged heating procedure is the reason why it lasts longer after multiple infusions.
